205 Xr Replace The Saxo Vtr Engine.

Recommended Posts

Hi!Everybody

I am a 205 XR owner from Taiwan.

My engine is TU3S with a Solex 34/34 z1 carburetor and 205 XS manifold.

And I want to replace a 1996 year SAXO VTR engine (1.6 8v).

But I have some questions as follow:

1.Can the AX GT manifold fit the VTR engine cylinder head?

2.Would the TU3S distributor fit on the VTR engine camshaft?

Because I can't find the VTR engine wiring loom harness.

I must continue using the carburetor system.

Please give some suggestions.

Many many thanks!

Simple answer is no too both questions..

The inlet manifold bolt pattern is wrong.

The vtr cam doesn't have the lobe for the mechanical fuel pump, and the ignition map is not perfectly suitable for the 1600 engine

You can use your xr thermostat housing and dizzy mount on the vtr head

should be very easy to find a VTR ecu+wiring loom on one of the UK saxo forums tbh.

thanks for your suggestion.

But the saxo VTR parts are not easy to find in Taiwan...

I think that continue using the carburetor system is a easier way to me.

Thank you very much!

One option is to put your cylinder head on the vtr block
