How Do I Recognise Gti- 6 Front Calipers?

Recommended Posts

Guest Super Josh

I am going to a breakers tomorrow to pick up some GTi 6 Front Brake Calipers, and I think that they aren't on the car.

How do I recognise them? I think they are made by Lucas, is this correct? Are these the only type of Lucas caliper used on a Pug?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Josh

I've been looking through the Peugeot parts CD, I was hoping for a picture. There is one, but it's a general picture used for the other calipers, so that wont help!

The caliper for the engine XU10J4RS (GTi-6) has come up as being Bendix, but if I remember rightly that's the same as Lucas (someone correct me if I'm wrong)?

There may be part numbers on the calipers, hopefully these will match 4401 A4 for the left and 4401 A5 for the right one.

Super Josh,

The number 57 will be cast on the claw of the caliper.

266mm calipers (306 HDi etc.) have the number 54.

Cheers,

When I got my Lucas brakes, they had the following stamped on them.

Passengers side caliper 5856/1

Drivers side caliper 5857/1

My yokes have 5860/2 and 7281 stamped on them.

These were also from a breakers yard and so I had to trust the guy. When I bought GTi-6 discs from Eurocarparts and fitted it it all went smoothly.
