307 Rapier Tu5Jp4 & Be Box

Recommended Posts

MikeM

Evening all,

Popped into a local scrappy today for a look around and came across an 03 plate 307 Rapier with the TU5JP4 engine and BE box, to cut a long story short- I am going back tomorrow to take out the engine and gearbox , its an absolute bargain so couldn't resist! I was planning on rebuilding the MA box, but would rather fit this as it seems to be a sturdy solution

I am planning on taking the loom and ecu + rear engine mount. For anyone who has done a BE conversion - should I take any of the cable shift system? Or anything else?

Cheers

Mike

2 ways to do the shifting, use all the 307's mechanism, or use the 205 be stuff, or a satchshift.

It is multiplex btw, not impossible to make it run, but there's the fbw throttle issue to overcome.

Most of these jp4's that make it into 106/saxo get the j4 cams, valve springs and retainers, and the inlet+ecu.

Thanks Welshpug. Ill take the whole cable shift system and see how I get on, I have a couple of spare Be shift setups if that fails.

Thanks for the info about the fbw throttle, I may just leave the loom and ecu if its not much use. Dont fancy a fbw throttle!

I had planned on rebuilding the head with J4 cams etc, I had looked into that previously.

Cheers

As welshpug says, use 106 gti / saxo vts management, the standard engine on the older management works really well :)
