Bonnet Safety Catch (Hood Hook?)

Honestly not sure what to search for so apologies if this has been done before.

 

I'm considering options in regards to the bonnet pins I have at the moment. Whilst I kind of like the aerocatches, I'm worried that the position of the bonnet pins are too far forward, and there might not be enough clearance should I try a straight swap. You can see the bonnet pins in this pic:

 

 

This was when Miles was fettling with the car. I'm not really up for relocating the pins back a little to be honest, so the aerocatches would in my mind use the same place if I decided to take that route.

 

He mentioned there was something that should be next to the bonnet catch thing which hooks onto the slam panel, and that getting that would be an option to remove the bonnet pins. So after some looking around in Servicebox, I ordered a couple of parts:

 

7950.29 - HOOD HOOK

7950.31 - HOOD HOOK

 

In the belief that these are used as the safety catch/spring/hook, or whatever the term is.

 

I haven't seen any pictures of these in the wild though, nor how they're attached to the bonnet, so I'm not sure if I'm missing anymore items, or if anything has been cut off.

That picture you have posted is of the lever you push to open the bonnet fully after its been popped from inside the cabin. As well as that you will need the catch assembly on the slam panel and the stud/spring arrangement under the bonnet that secures into the catch itself.
