Do we all agree with their verdict of which engine is the best?

I know I do. There are quicker engines, certainly. But there's something about a D6C - it's like having "that" friend, the cool one your parents warned you is a bad influence, sitting behind you constantly poking you in the back saying "go on, put your foot down, you'll love it, you know you will, go on, go on, go on...."

Having used and abused two D6C's for several years as my daily driver (yes one car, two engines, you know what mi's are like!) i would agree aswell. I'm not sure i agree with their thoughts on the BX though, in contemporary roadtests the BX was often considered the better handler - even though there was little between them. Either way the 405 still turns my head to this day, i sent the link to that article to a friend of mine who used to own an mi16x4 with the subject; "Buy one...."

I have never driven a car with the later mi16/s16 (xu10j4) engine but i have owned a xsara vts, and whilst the RFS engine is far more willing down the rev range and easier to live with its still the D6C that will be going in my 205 next year.
