Finally Starting Restoration

Finally starting the full restoration of my red 1.9 1989 gti.I have owned the car for 7 years been in the garage for most of them and was in a garage for 5 years when I bought it. Has all original documents that comes with a new 205. I built a rotissery for it and have it nearly completely stripped ready for blasting. Bit worried about the wiring loom refitting, alot to try and rem lots of pic taken. so might need some info. sun roof looks a bit of a pain to refit too. I was trying to find some kind of build instructions that peugeot might have used in the factory if such a thing exists??? luckly i have 3 other gtis to take notes from, 1 1989 1.9 grey and 1 1992 1.9 miami blue that I inherited from 2 of my brothers friends who are going to canada and another 1989 1.6 grey i.ve had for years that resides in a field.so thats about it. so if anyone is stuck for bits.

 

This 205 is going to be restored to orginal spec even trying to find old Philips DC569/65 tape player for it. gonna try build track day car with one of the others. Also can I buy parts from 'peugeot service box'?? or have I to go through main dealer? I'll up load pics if I get permission ltr on.

Well trying to finish my house at the same time so i'd say its gonna be year or two anyway, prob be afraid to drive it when its finished

Sounds like a lot of fun!! Time taken will show in the finished product, but I too like you would be afraid to drive it after...

how can I up load Pics here? think I have to be posting for a while? anybody know if I can buy parts directly from peugeot service box? I was on looking around the 205gti parts list, good site I tried to buy but I think you have to be main dealer?
