dave205 19 Posted October 15, 2012 Does anyone know the difference between saxo and 106 front suspension? I have a r-reg 106 1.1, thats for spares, but may hav the chance of buying an x-reg saxo 1.4 that has a bent strut and wishbone. Will the bits swap straight over before i go to all the hassle of ripping them off?
welshpug 1,646 Posted October 15, 2012 they're the same with some minor details you need to be aware of. post 1999 cars have different shaped hub flange to cv joint mating surfaces, so they have to match, later is called tapered, however if you fit an earlier bearing and drive flange then any upright can be used. or of course just swap the driveshaft to match the hub. there's also shorter steering arms on PAS models, you can't use the non pas arms on a pas car as they will make the track rods foul the bulkhead and rack assembly. and lastly there are sport model struts that use droplinks and a cast wishbone, and base models struts that use an arb that bolts directly to a flat plate wishbone and wont have the droplink tab. dave205 19 Posted November 11, 2012 So to summarise the driveshafts will need swapping as well then? Both the x reg saxo and the r-reg 106 have power steering so surely that wont matter? The saxo isnt a vtr vts etc its a 1.4 furio and has an anti roll bar that mounts straight to the wishbone and doent have drop links at all. So should fit?
