Condesation Issue?/ Cold Starting Issue

Hi ive got a 1990 gti 1.9 and it seems to steam up really quickly and can be a problem as it can take ages to sort just wondered if anyone else has these issues , abd how the aolve them etc , ps i know its a small car and that wont help things , also the old girl ha great difficulty idling when cold just stalls until its warm i this normal ps ive just had a brand new cold start put in but doesnt seem to have helped her , once she is warm doesnt skip a beat purrs like a kitten n drives lovely , sorry if in wrong section new to this forum .
