Fuel Pump

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what Voltage should be at the fuel pump? I have 9.5v when cranking but no fuel from the pump..........it will pump intermittent.

I have new fuel pump relay, New Fuel Filter, New Fuel pressure Reg, New Coolant Temp sensor, Working AFM (tested resistance values and all as per values listed), Working TPS (tested) and set correct.

Prob a bit low really.

Voltage drop when cranking at a componant shouldnt really be below 10.5v max.Healthy reading would be over 11v.

Whats your battery voltage(at Battery terminals) with a ignition off?Below 12.4 and the battery needs a charge or could be cabbaged.

However i have seen batterys with one shorted cell give 12.5v standing that drops to under 10v when cranking.

Try a temperary feed(via a suitably thick wire to the back of the fuel pump plug.Dont be checking your fuel flow from any pipes close to your improvised pump feed incase theres any sparking.

Tried a temporary feed and pump works fine, Battery Voltage is fine, so something is pulling the voltage down...............also noticed that the Fuel is drawing back into the tank/not retaining pressure (takes 9 secs of cranking before fuel at rail) i guess the Valve in the pump has gone so probably the pump has past its best to.
