Possible To Make The Reading Light (Door Open) Work When

Recommended Posts

Would like to make the "door open" light , turn on when opening the car with remote control or even when opening with the key , and turn off when switch is opened.

Is it possible?

thanks

I use a Toad ai606 alarm and it has this function, provided you wire it up - very useful in my mind. The light goes out when you turn on the ignition.

WIthout some kind of alarm/immobiliser i am unsure how/if you could do it though.

I take it you have a remote system in place? If so I would think its ok to do using a couple of relays.

Put a relay (might need a multiple way relay) in parralell to door soleniod so that it comes on when your door solenoid gets the signal to move from the remote system. Wire this relay up so that it "latches" once initially turned on by the door solenoid. Use this this relay that latches to turn your light on. With another relay wire it in to activate when the ignition is turned on. Wire the contact side of this relay to break the latching circuit of the other relay.

This should work I would think.
