1.6 To 1.9 Problems

Hi I've just swapped my 1.6 to 1.9 and have got an issue with it starting, when I turn the key over it just makes a buzzing noise I think that's the fuel pump, it does not turn over.... I've just read the conversion topic and I have a coil mounted on the inlet but the old engine has not, I'm using the same loom and 1.9 ecu, has anyone got any ideas of what it could be.

poor connectiong from ignition barrel to the starter solenoid.

 

have a search for 'brown multi plug' or 'starting issues / problems'

 

Just to help you, its the smaller terminal on the starter, should ber a blue (all be it very dirty) wire, which goes through the bulkhead, into the cabin, roughly above your left foot as a driver, there will be 2 multiplugs on a phase 1.5 or 2. its *usually* a blue wire - as peugeot in their wisdom have been known to do some funky things...
