205 Rallye Advice Needed

Hi guys

 

I had a crack at fitting new shoe and pistons today and gave up.

 

I have found a guy with a 1.9 gti beam and front springs to match the lowered beam. Will my standard Rallye wheels fit over the rear 1.9 brakes

I doubt those springs will work very well on a rallye, the TU engine (other than the 16v) is lighter and the XU, also has a lighter gearbox so it will sit a fair bit higher.

 

 

Also I would be highly wary of a pre-lowered beam unless it is from a trusted source, any that I have encountered previously have been scrap.
