What To Upgrade My Tu3S.

Recommended Posts

petrolpete

hi, i wish to upgrade my tu3s, which i have in my 205 xt. i've read in some topics that the xs has an uprated cam but have also been told else where that my xt is an earlier version of the xs? i'm puzzled at what to do? i'm also thinking of porting the head so the cam would be the next modification for the head. can anyone help please.

I might be wrong on this ( I often am) but I think the xt is iron block and different cam and carb to the tu3s found in the xs etc.

did you mean that you want to upgrade the standard engine, or you already have a tu3s in there?

hi jon, thanks for the reply, i already have a tu3s in there, as it says on the engine it's self. but i'm unaware if it's an iron block or not. does the xs run the tu3s aswell then?

tu3s was standard in the xs, Gt, Roland garros, and also ax Gt

best way to check the block would be the magnet test, if it sticks its iron, if not its alloy

Hi, how reliable is the info provided on this site? http://www.peugeot205xs.co.uk/ I ask as I've got an F reg 1.4 GR, and it feels very much more quicker than my partners G reg 1.1 GL.

Might give some help to the OP too.

This site is much more helpful and reliable. The OP seems fairly sure its a TU3S engine so will be alloy block engine.

Going back to the original question, there are plenty of ways to tune the engine, check out these 2 threads for inspiration -
