S1 106 Rallye Issues

Got a few annoying faults at the min with my dads rally car.Car is Endurance spec.

1-when coming up to a control/junction to a standstill the car stalls.Changed the icv and swapped the green induction kit back to the standard airbox and still does it.

 

2-The car jumps out of gear on uphill left hand bends only!Has uprated engine/gearbox mounts all look fine,bakerbm gearods and quickshift which we have tried adjusting.Gearbox rebuilt before the last rally(did it before rebuild and after)

vehicle speed sensor, rallye's have a 3 pin + standard cable, could be this, also was the ICV a new unit? I don't think it would be the MAP sensor.

 

regards the shaft, only thing I can think of is that its got the wrong shaft on the RH side and it compressing fully and shifting the engine over.

 

 

best bet is to crack out the multimeter, also try reading the fault codes.

Yeah it was a new icv and have got two more spares so dont think its that.will check the other parts

 

Not sure about the jumping out of gear,changed the long selector rod(one with the round rubber on)and the arm that bolts to the bottom bulkhead and it hasnt done it today.No petrol so had to return home,will try again one night this week.

Still jumping out of gear,think were going to get two new shafts.

 

Done a bit of digging on google and like you said mei it could be the vss,other people had similar symptoms.£155 on net though for Pug ones.Will try and fond a 2nd hand one to try first.

Got Exmoor endurance rally sat so could do with it right!

£155?! theyre about £60 from a dealer or £25-30 on ebay!

Well it stalled at every bar one control lol,end of season now so will have it sorted for next year.

Plus some new front springs,ones on now are way too hard for rough Enduro events
