Any Benefit To Lambda With Omex 500

Recommended Posts

As title really, would there be any benefit in fitting a lambda to an Omex 500 system. The wire is there available for input, the car is however already mapped as RPM / TPS so think it would mean remapping again?

Also how do most people get round idle control on throttle bodies in terms of getting more air in?

If you want reliable fuel economy, then fit it. To go closed loop however, the mapping needs to be close to 14.7:1, usually +/-15%. I'd fit it and go for a drive. You will soon see if it's running closed loop. The injection times will be changing very quickly, automatically. If not, nudge the mixtures up/down until they do. Typically, you'd restrict closed loop to above 1500rpm and less than 30% throttle in the software. I'm not familiar with Omex software, but that's the basics.

If mapped correctly, throttle bodies are usually less susceptible to cold starts than plenum chambers. You should aim for 800 cold/1000 hot.
