Rough Prices

Can anyone give me a rough idea on what a half tidy rolling shell goes for nowadays? Non sunroof gti with V5? Would want it with interior wires and dash, carpets etc is a bonus.

to be honest you will be hard pushed to find any gti shells widely available let alone a non sunroof one!

 

there is a shell for sale on here that has all you require and has been reduced to £250 but it has an aftermarket sunroof.

There are a few non sunny shells about, I did do a search but it seems like nobody has prices on. A sunroof shell won't be an option.

How long is a piece of string? Anywhere from free to about a grand, and typically something like £250-500.

bugger all, I just sold an almost mint xs shell for less than £200 after being advertised for about a year. that did have a sunroof though.

Fair few get broken so there are plenty of shells about for people to choose from IMO.

 

It's not like an 80's Ford where poverty spec shells are being snapped up for good money and adapted due to availability.

 

I sold a non sunroof shell a few months ago for £80. Was only one person interested in it. It was fairly solid but needed sill work.

 

It's like anything. If you can/want to hold on to something for strong money you can try. But I wasn't going to continue to pay to store something I wanted rid of.

 

Roof sections can often make more than that, so I could of easily chopped that off and weighed the rest in but that would have been a shame - and effectively I kept another 205 on the road in the end as it was bought to re shell another.

Excellent, seems like a reasonable price and is what I thought would be the case.

To answer the comments on roofs, Ive been down the route of plating a sunny shell. I have no interest in doing it again. Also Re the XS shell. I would imagine it did go cheap as the rear arches re smaller so wont accept the GTI trims without modification. I would be looking solely for a gti shell with no sunroof.
