Trailing Arm Identification

Recommended Posts

BERTMAN

Hi, I have a set of 309 GTi rear trailing arms and want to know if they are the earlier (86-90) or later (90-93) arms due to the different camber and toe settings from the two phases. I would ask the guy I bought them from but its been so long I have no idea who it was any more! My question is; is there a way of differentiating between the different arms with them off the car, and off an axle or am I going to have to fit them and see?

Cheers

Liam

edit: this is probably in the wrong section! Can a mod please move this to suspension & brakes section?

I think you'll struggle to identify them off the car unless you've got a nice flat surface, measuring tackle and patience!

Ahh, was hoping there would be some tell tale castings or markings on them!
