Refitting My Aerial

Recommended Posts

Carbs4me

Hello All,

Ive recently had a leaky aerial on my 205, i had no problem getting it off, i just cant seem to get it back on! Inside the little metal cap (that it was once screwed into, there is a nut bouncing around inside this cap, is that right? i cant seem to get it to line up again and screw it back in, even once its lined up or at least i think it is, it does nothing it wont grab it.

Is there a trick to this?

for now Ive just put silicone over it to stop it from leaking

I have DAB radio fitted, so at the worse case i will just put a small nut and washer on it, unless it will cause any damage?

Cheers,

Ant

don't quite get what you mean, which bit can you not get back on?

its pretty darn simple, place aerial base over hole, put end fitting of aerial cable over stud, wind nut onto stud, nip down with 8mm socket.

I dont think my explanation was that well written..

I think i have worked it out on looking at it again this morning.

Basicly i just wound the aerial from off the top of the roof as it was loose.

The metal cyclinder with the aerial cable attached to it, i didnt relise it came apart. hence i was trying to screw the aerial back into it without taking it apart, now i understand my fault.
