Just a weird Sunday night thought and currently stripping a good old VTS, Has anyone tried to crack the VTS wiring? Doesn't look too bad so thought it was worth a shot too see what might happen

Never tried it myself, but have been led to believe that the engine and ecu can be used possibly with the BSI but with it re-programmed so it doesn't need to see the body sensors abs etc.

Found the one I was thinking of, but never got to hear what he did to make it work, a 16v hdi into a 306.

Lars Lybker from Denmark might be able to help, I think he had a hand in fitting a DW12TED4 into a 306 dimma.

I haven't looked at it very closely but I stripped a multiplexed 406 hdi earlier this year & also don't think they would be that hard to wire up.

Afaik there aren't many of the engine ecu wires which are multi-use & obviously the power / sensor wires will be the same so I don't see any real problem with using one over a non multiplex loom.

sorry can't help you personally, but it is possible. I drive a 205 Gentry with a 2002 vts engine. Didn't do the electrics by myself. I bought the engine (in 2006) out of a crashed 205 and put it in mine.
