Wheels Stud Conversion With Lightweight Nuts

Recommended Posts

Jamie P

Hi all, I have been lurking for quite some time and this is my first proper post.

I'm looking at converting my hubs to studs and would like to use lightweight anodised nuts.

There are lot available but they all seem to be tapered not flat faced. Apart from buying some tht are un suitable and machining them does anyone know where I could source some flat faced ones?

Cheers

I would not be happy using alloy wheel nuts.

Subaru ones are the correct thread (12 x 1.25) and there's both flat and taper seat ones available aftermarket

(typically with the usual JDM scene tax added)

After doing a bit of research I'm not sure I do want to fit them, a few guys seem to have lost wheels with them on! Even if this may be due to them over torquing them I'm not sure I want to take that risk.

Use the correct torque setting and you'll be ok, but I wouldn't use them; for the weight you save it really isn't worth the hassle.
