205Gti Getting More And More Rare?

Recommended Posts

Leon

Mine was used daily until I got a company car. Now I no longer need it, but I still want it. Sat on my neighbour's drive with no tax or ticket at the moment.....

They are not 'rare' yet do to speak, but they are not going to get less rarer are they, it has to be said! ;)

I use one pretty much everyday, I don't have a big commute but when I go somewhere I innevitably choose the 205 and trust it to get me where I want to go & back. I go to Germany & back in one a few times a year.

Wednesday last week I used one to do a c650mile round trip to pick up another one with a mate.

I too use mine every day and have done for the best part of 7 years.

Would happily use mine as a daily if it wasn't blocked in by other cars. As moving them around takes longer than my commute, it's not really practical.

Both mine are daily's - alternated every 2 weeks or so - only 10 miles a day although one or the other has used been used daily for the last 5 years (GTI) and 2 years (CTI).

I've got to say i've definitely noticed a reduction in the number i see on the roads over the past 2-3 years. Saying that I do see a good 7-10 on a regular basis and the odd GTi. Mines an Mi16 and i use it daily, infact my sister is using it to commute for the week... bitch :(

Mine will most likely be a daily through the winter due to it having a heated windscreen, and it's much less stressful to drive in the crap conditions & snow than the Alfa.. also much less likely to rust.

We buy any car etc has taken some off the road, so maybe its not rare but getting rare, slowly but surely 18.000 down to 5k in less than ten years is way too much.

we buy any car? dont be mad, they pay less than scrap value.

You would have to have rocks in your head to sell to them!

Agree with you totally, but the fact is that obviously there are plenty of folk out there who do subscribe to the b.s. On their adverts and so get drastically low money for their cars, serves them right IMO.

That's their minimum online offer, and is the most you'll get out of them for any 205, no matter what condition it's in.

both mine get used regularly, one more so than the other

The GRD has served(and still is) me well. Done 100,000 in it. Mainly Reading to Brighton everyday for a year

GTi is like a hormonal woman going through menopause, has it's days but thankfully due to HRT it's got more manageable

When I was selling my MR2, which was a 1994 highly modified Jap import, curiousity got the better of me and I enquired on 'we buy any car' and they quoted £750.....I eventually sold it for £8,500!

Surely that site only caters for the mass produced, plentiful remaining, non modified cars. But am sure some people are desperate enough to use them.

I use my 205 occasionally in the week instead of the train (when I am running late for work) which is a 70 mile round trip on the motorway. Touch wood, never missed a beat...but then I have kept her very well serviced since I bought her 18 months ago.

Iove the idea of daily commuting in my 205, but with 270 mile round trip I don't think neither I or the car would last long.

3 days /week (2 days work from home). Don't even ask me about the fuel bills.

It's rare that I get to track 2 of a CD by the time I arrive to work if I load a new one when I leave home. If I have the wireless on it's usually half a song and some adverts

I freelance, so if I moved house sods law dictates I'd end up with a job somewhere else anyway.
