Is Anyone Reconditioning 1.9 Alloys On Here?

Recommended Posts

maturin23

I've decided to get a set of wheels with winter tyres on, will probably use my existing ones for that which are in OK condition, but fancy a nice shiny set of 'new' ones for summer use.

I'm based in North London. There's a guy just up the road who does it on a commercial basis - would be £180 for all four.

Is that a good price? Can anyone on here do a good job for less?

cheers

Ian

If you can get them to pscuk group leader rob in Gloucester minus tyres I think he can still get them blasted and coated for £100 a set of 4, lovely durable finish, few different colours available.

In Surrey/Hants most companies offering a refurb service seem to charge about £50 approx (give or take £10 either way) to refurb an alloy. So £180 for 4 sounds about right being you're also London/South East.

I very much enjoyed refurbing mine myself recently, it helps having a spare set though - but one thing i will say is that i will NEVER do polished lips again, what a nightmare that was! Sanding for hours....

theres a guy on ebay at the moment doing 4 smr's refurbed in a colour of your choice for £150.

thats for an outright purchase so you could save a few quid by not needing a set to be refurbed. in radstock or offers postage for £40 so you could pay £180 ish to refurb some (plus say £50 for the wheels to start with) or £200 for a new set refurbed already

having said that I have no idea if they are any good or not :P just thought I'd make you aware if you werent already :)

I paid around £60 a wheel, the finish is of a very high standard. Kent/London border. Amazing service.

They're just down the road from me in Gillingham. They're very good and I'd recommend them!! Got a few mates who have used them.

Depending on the finish of the wheels that sounds like a bargain!!!

I'm rubbing my SMR's down this weekend with my kids ready to spray later in the week when I get the chance to... Kids enjoy it as much as me lol
