Vibgration When Braking

Recommended Posts

Telf

Hi all

My car has developed a braking fault that i cant seem to fix.

Under braking i get a vibration in the rear of the car. At least that how it feels. There is no judder through the steering column. It isnt noticeable below 40mph. It only occurs during initial light braking from speeds above 50mph, If i press the brake more firmly the judder stops immediately.

Ive checked both front and rear systems to make sure the discs arent warped, pads arent excessively worn and that the calipers arent siezed. As far as i can tell they are ok. Both front and rear pads have equal wear on either side, Ive checked for excessive play in the wheel bearings and found them to be fine too.

I was wondering if the compensators could be faulty or maybe it just needs a flush and bleed?

Has anybody experienced this problem before?

Sorry car is a 205 1.9GTI on a H plate - 89

Thanks for any help!

Does sound like a warped disc, I know you said you've checked it but have you replaced it?
