1.4 Performance Camshaft Into 1.1

Recommended Posts

Hi, just wondering if this would work and if Yes what sort of gains would you get if any?

The car I'm putting it into is a 1.1 with single point injection.

The cam is a kent PT04 for a 1.4 xs and citroen ax.

Thanks in advance.

No so. Later 8v TU engines had larger journals on the cam.

There will be a redundant lobe on the cam to drive a mechanical fuel pump but no matter. I think it'll probably fit but I have no idea on the cam profiles for a 1.1 so whether you'll see any benefit I wouldn't want to say.

lad locally fitted a vtr head to a 1.1 (me thinks) 106. it didnt idle, ran very rich, and was a waste of time.

If both the engines are injection I thought they where the same..?

The vtr head would of been the one with the small chamber thing and would of dropped his compression or raises it.

It seems you can't mix flat pistons with heads off domed engines.
