Gaz Coilovers

Recommended Posts

Iain-gti

Hi,

I am currently stripping down my Gaz coilovers but cant undo the top securing nut. Theres a 22mm nut over a thread shaft with two flat spot at the top to hold it with. Problem is cant hold both and undo. Is the a special tool or technique?

Thanks in advance

Iain

then it would be a rebuild. Its really not going to struggle though with a simple top nut.

If you are feeling really rough you can get hold of the very top of the rod where it will never go near the shaft seals with mole grips. I have done this before albeit only on old u/s dampers that I wanted the springs off.

I use an electric impact hammer if you want something with a little less torque.

You need to crack off that 22mm nut before taking the strut off the car.
