Will an alternator off a 1.1-1.6 work like a 106/206/saxo with them all being tu engines or its the electrical set up different amps and all that

Getting an alternator from a newer TU lump should be fine. I think there are rated at 12v 50 amps by the way

I think a lot of them are similar, best to take a few photos of yours on your phone or something and take it with you to the scrappy. I think some of the 106/306 ones will have higher output but not so much that it would cause a negative effect as I understand it.

theyre only £50 new on ebay with added peace of mind!

i am looking now at the ebay one but i will go to a scrappy tomorow and have a look at some i think i will get a new one then get mine reconed and its always a spare part to have as a back-up

cheers i wasnt sure if newer alternators would change the output with the newer cars running alot more electrical systems.

Just looked at specs a 205 alternator runs at 12v 70A a 106 alternator runs at 14v 70A what should the battery read when the engine is running mine reads 12.82v when the engine is off or on it stays the same just thinking if its a 12v alternator will it just stay at 12?

it'll be fine, it should be either side of 14v when running, the unit marked 12v will do the same, not sure why they are marked at 12, probably different manufacturers way of marking them.

I'm assuming paggered, or knackered, f***ed, broken, shagged, bollocksed, U/S, etc etc
