Weird One - Offside Headlight Ok, Sidelight/indicators Not

Recommended Posts

ScoobyJawa

As per title, just sorting out what I thought were failed bulbs, but have checked out all bulbs and the drivers side headlight is fine, but the sidelight and the indicator and side repeater don't work, even though the bulbs are ok as I checked!

Wiring seems to go off round the rad which has been replaced to the nearside lights area but the wiring sleeve all looks ok....

Any thoughts on if it's anything maybe simple before I break out the circuit tester?

Thanks

Neil

For the sidelight, If the bulb holder itself appears fine, check the earth points by the headlights. You'll see the green/yellow wires going to the yellow plug on the headlight panel. Give them a wiggle and a clean up.

They can become corroded and cause funny issues like this. I had similar with mine.

They did have bags on from the factory to keep them dry, but over time these usually split and moisture will soon make it's way in.

I got some pristine bags and changed my earth blocks for some nice shiney ones removed from the inside of a 205. For scrapyard reference, There are identical ones inside near the steering wheel and and in the back quarter next to the rear lights which you can pinch and replace. You may be able to buy them from Peugeot still actually - I've not checked.
