My Bank Holiday Project!

I got my 205 back from Carl Chambers after having had a bit of work and on Saturday decided I would build myself a carport to keep it dry over the winter.

So in Sunday morning, with help from the girlfriends dad we started building!

I'm very happy with the result. We already had all of the roofing tiles, after buying all of the timber, fixings etc it came to just over £200, which considering the timber came from Wickes not a builders merchant, I thought it was quite cheap!

Now just to lay the concrete slab...

Looks very good, really in keeping with the building it's on from the looks of it.

I would just paint the first roof joist brown to match the legs, only because you can see that one.

Yeah the roof tiles are all off an old barn similar to ours, I am going to stain all the wood the same colour as the barn doors next to it, so it should look like its always been there!

Jonny, car is running beautifully now! Just been to see Jimmy Carr in Peterborough so had a nice spirited drive on the way home and boy does it go! Very happy...

Baz, we started building at about 1100 on Sunday, worked pretty much right through to 1800, then from 0800 to 1800 again on the Monday, breaking a few hours for lunch and again to get more wood, then I had finished the tiling by 1200 today. Actual hours working on it was about 15.

Absolutely chucking it down outside and I spent an hour happily polishing it under the carport! :)
