speno 239 2 Cars Posted August 26, 2012 Hello some quick questions on the above Got these from a car i broke for spares ages ago http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream Number on top of the damper is 4298XDE60800T0 200 80 any one know what model they are ? Is it worth getting them serviced ? and who would do this ( i know someone mentioned a place in Leicester) Thanks
Anthony 1,002 Posted August 26, 2012 They look like the Skip Brown "Roadspeed" dampers to me, which are machined 205 damper bodies with Bilstein inserts.
rallysteve 22 Posted August 26, 2012 The bodies look like the Skip Brown modified ones, however the damping ratio 200 80 on your inserts seems a bit off for a 205 (my tarmac ones are 200 300) I think thats the ratio used for some rwd fords though. Bilstein UK service centre is based next to the Eibach UK place near Lutterworth, Leics. Have a search on here for their phone number. They should be able to refurb/service them for you can could also re-valve them to a different damping ratio possibly Hope that helps Steve

Nope, that's the correct damping rate - the SBC dampers are a bit softer than PTS tarmac spec ones.
