Might have to drop BF3 and Diablo for a bit and jump on the old box for a bit. Had the T16 in GT5 but that series has gone way downhill.

D3 has gone all Gymkhana and Monster energy drink. The whole game feels like you're playing a series of miniature demo's, rather than racing to win anything. Lots of fancy menu animations and commentary that you can't skip which is both patronising and a hugely annoying waste of time. The driving physics aren't too bad though, but it is definitely on the arcade side of the fence. I've been playing WRC 2 recently and much prefer it. the menu's are basic and are poorly done at times, the co-drivers make mistakes, but the driving is much better and more than makes up for it.

 

If only I had the spare money for an X360, I'd buy one just so I can play Forza. I loved all the GT games from 1 to 4 despite the terrible sound effects and over-hyped "realism" of the driving, but I think that's probably more because at the time it had no competitors. Forza is far superior. For anyone who doesn't have an X360 and doesn't want to splash out on one just for Forza, try NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed on PC. That's pretty fun too.

Forza 2 was the reason I bought a 360 and I'm glad I did. I had a ps3 at the time but I was tried of waiting for gt5, and what a disappointment that was when it finally came out, what the hell where they doing for five years.

Forza 3 was great and now Forza 4 is awesome too, the best console driving game by far.

 

NFS: Shift 1 & 2 are not bad, quite fun to play. As are Dirt 2 & 3.

Regarding the GT series, i should have known better after 4. GT4 being almost a direct copy of 3 with no real step forward. Forza 3 was epic fun in all fairness so i probably would have been better served just going for 4.

 

Im a veteran of the Colin McRae series on original PS (along with TOCA Touring Car- awesomeness) so all this new gymkhana stuff just seems gimmicky. Either go rally cross or proper rall stage time trial, rest is just Tony Hawk in a car.

 

Minigibbo, I assume D3 = Diablo 3. Its new to me so i had no preconceptions of how it would play out. Its probably bit simplistic (ex wow player so it was always gonna be a step in the arcade direction). Just a fun no brainer but other than a loot hunt end game content is lacking. Definitely needs additional expansions to make replay worthwhile. Average considering hype and online necessity is a ball ache.

Yeah I meant Diablo3, when I "retired" from d2 most of my mates took up wow but I had spent enough of my time on games so fancied a change and bought what was then new out a '360.
