Cibie Oscar Wiring

Recommended Posts

Furyblade_Lee

Hi. I want to fit two Cibie Oscar spotlights to our 205 Open which we use on road rallies. What is the "correct" way to wire these in? I take it you cannot just splice the lives into the headlight's main beam and you have to fit a relay? Any help would be appreciated!

On mine I ran a wire (+ feed) direct from the alternator into two relays ( one for each light ). Then the relays were triggered by the main beam switch ( the indicator stalk ) and that wire was run through a switch so I can use the main beam on it's own and turn off the spots. You could get your feed from your driving lamp wiring, as they may not be allowed due to the regs, or like I did repinned the plug on the indicator stalk and added an extra wire that way.

This is the way I have done it and it does not mean it is right or wrong, however it worked for me :)

As mark says make sure you put in a switch aswell as you get your arse kicked for running spots in neutral/transport sections ;)
