What Motor's Can I Swap On My Mi16

Recommended Posts

Idriz

First of all before someone freak's out lol no i dont really want to swap my beautiful Mi16 motor, because it runs like a champ.

But if you would want to do a swap what motor would you guys put in there.

Please dont give me options that we here in the States cant get, but i was wondering would a 2.0T motor of a GTI for example fit there and how difficult

would the swap be, or what else would you guys recommend.

I think you guys forgot no 406 motors here in the states lol

Reason i would like to put a vw motor is cause theres alot of aftermarket parts for it here and could bring it down to the 12's with no problem.

But thanks again guys and keep those opinions coming.

I once testfitted a Mi16 block to a Audi FWD gearbox, and the bolt holes seemed to line up really.

This means that if you are lucky, it could be possible to bolt the VW block directly to the Peugeot gearbox.

I haven't looked more into it than that, but remember some years ago a kit car with Mi16 engine also running with the audi FWD box positioned at the rear making it a mid engine RWD.

So the pug engine indeed seemed to fit straight onto the VAG gearbox.

If the bolt pattern on the transverse mounted engines are the same there could be a chance for it working :)

That said, horrible engines compared to the XU those 1.8 t engines for example.

I always fancied a GTi6 lump in mine when I had it, but the Honda engine sounds like it could be fun :) Sandy on the 205gtidrivers forum put one in a 309, so it will fit, not sure how much work is involved though!
