Just Keeping You Guys Updated

Hello there,

Just wanted to share my " almost " finished project with all of you, after owning it for over two years i am almost done with my 91 Mi16 which i have been working on for a while. When i got this car it was in immaculate condition and from the excitement i took it to my friends shop and told him, i want you to do a full tune up and what ever you think should be done and some fun stuff.

So we came up with the following:

Full tune up plugs, wires etc

Belts

Timing belt

Water pump

Fuel filter

Slotted rotors & new pads all around

Struts & Shocks

Lowering springs

Alignment

K&N intake

Upper tie bar

Under coating

The fuel lines were a little dry so those were replaced as well

Fluids

Mobile 1 Synthetic oil 15w50

New falken Azenis tires 205/50-15

I also have a set of 14" mi16 wheels of a 89 with new All season tires 195/60 for daily drive

After all this was done then i had it detailed and decided to touch up the interior a bit. I shorten the shifter, installed a Momo knob and Momo pedals. As you all know the U.S model steering wheel is extremely ugly dont know if you guys have the same wheel but this one is horrible. So i installed a 89 Mi16 steering wheel of my parts car which i bought a year ago. I bought a 89 Mi16 for parts the car didn't run and it was a junk car but i got it for the wheels and steering wheel. Make the story short i wanted a set of 14" wheels for daily use and a 89 steering wheel, because the 89 model here used the same steering wheel as you guys out there and all of a sudden i see a 89 on ebay for $300 bucks hahahaha with no title and all banged up. So it turned out cheaper for me to buy the entire car then just spend $400 - $500 on a set of wheels and steering wheel. So back to the story i then painted the wheel in black to match the interior.

Last month i decided to take it to a body shop to paint the hood & bumpers due to some rock chips and scratches and of course i get talked into painting the entire car.

Now the last thing that i want to do is restore the wheels, I am going to drop them of to this guy who repairs wheels to have them sprayed to match original color. There's nothing wrong with them but the area where the weights use to be in front, there's a little scratch on each wheel and it bothers me. Now i have the weights on the inside of the wheel. You could see my car on youtube Peugeot 405 Mi16 Restored. I will try and attach it here but if it doesn't work just go check it out there, car is Red.

Thanks

It looks absoloutely stunning :)

Nice work. My Mi16 used to be almost that shiny and nice before the rust took it.

Not much corrision problems over at yours?

Here they throw loads of salt on the roads during winter, so cars rust very fast.
