405 Sti Front Brake Upgrade

i thought upgrading the front brakes of my 405 would make a big difference with braking response my standard brakes are girling 54 piston size with 14 disc size, and i replaced them with lucas 57 sized piston caliper and master and 15 disc sized with wholes which are made for better pad disc cooling which are fitted with my originak hubs sraight in,and one thing i noticed is that pads where not covering the whole disc which was weird to me,it;it just felt the same when braking even thought the big difference in pad size, and here is a link of the lucas caliper
