Hi, actually I don't know what I'm looking for - schematic diagram or wiring diagram? Anyways I need it because of the fuel pump near the fuel tank

All I found on the internet is this:

http://peugeot.mainspot.net/wiring405/index.shtml

but it does not help

It occasionally works

I thought I'll have to buy a new one, but

my mechanic told me that the pump is ok, but something's wrong with the wires.

So it should be the same on all 405? Cause I've heard there are two type of pumps, one is situated inside, and the other outside the fuel tank...

205/309 have an in-tank pump, all the 405's i've seen have an external one.

it's easy to test the pump - give it +12v and ground directly to the terminals and check if it works ok.

if it does, then trace it back, find wires 76/76A and M76 and check/replace the relay those wires are coming from.

it would help if you would describe when does it not work or stops working and springs back to life etc.

hope this helps :).

There is a connector to the fuel pump under the plastic cover underneath the rear seat. On my ph2 glx it was totally eaten by corrosion, leaving my engine dead in the middle of a huge intersection during rush hour :|

Check that connector, and as cybernck says, the relay and fuse in the little box on the right side of the engine compartment.

Could also be faulty connection in the multiplugs on the front left side of engine compartment.

Thing is that car ran normally, and the day after it wouldn't start (I didn't hear the sound of the pump when I turned the ignition on).

My mechanic managed to fix it before I gave him the wiring diagram, Mi16 back on the road :D

Thanks guys ;)
