Mi16 Rear Beam

Recommended Posts

James504

The rear of my Mi16 feels like crap, granted only the front has been lowered. I haven't taken anything apart yet, as i still need to drive the car on the road, but from looking at service box the rear beam is nothing like a 205 rear with the arms and bearsing inside the tube. On the 405 the bearings are in the arms? The parts guy at work is totally useless and couldn't tell me if they had pole that goes into the beam like on a 205. Can anyone clear it up for me? And what are they like to pull apart, as crap as a 205?

Cheers,

James.

probably a bit worse than a 205 in the respect that they will rarely have ever been apart in 15-20 years, the anti roll bar is external on the 405.

best bet is to get hold of an early Haynes workshop manual for the 405, this covers the rear beam quite well, including the different fitment torsion bars.
