Rear Caliper

Recommended Posts

tzracing

I started to listen some crack noises from the rear.

Removed left rear wheel and noted brake caliper is leaking oil from the hand brake spring/axle (on top of caliper - it seems so). <_<

Have anyone had this trouble before?

It is advisable to fix this or to buy a 2nd hand caliper (interchangable - only few MI16 here in Portugal)?

I can fix it just as I do with my motorcycles, but I would like to have an ideia from where to start.

Thanks. :)

Pictures (and overhaul instructions in finnish language) of rear caliper. Hardest thing is to get locking ring inside caliper removed/installed. Overall easy job to do, and much cheaper than changing caliper to reconditioned.

AFAIK any phase 1 rear caliper should fit if you wanted to get a second hand one.

Thank you.

I think the best is to remove caliper and fix it, according to the pics posted (the language is like chinese to me...).

Just let pass Christmas and new year, after that I will do the job. :)

Thanks once again!
