Phase 2 Alarm Reciever/plip Replacement

Recommended Posts

JamesLeMans831345402285

Hello, after mine got broken into at the weekend I've moved my search for functioning remote/plip to number one. My central locking works fine from they key, but no joy from the plip, replaced batteries etc. The alarm is activated when the plip is used so need this functioning.

The original replacement parts from pug is circa £200 according to servicebox.

So, does anyone have experience of fitting the reciever/2 button plip from later model peugeots, 406 etc as these seem to be much easier to source and can be re-coded.

Or know if this is possible to rectify the fault with one of the cheapy after market kits from ebay, i guess the central locking would work fine but what about the alarm.

I've asked a few people who are breaking theirs up, but always seems theirs was broken too.

Or whether an alarm specialist could cook something up?

What I really need is for someone to tell me they have a known wokring one sitting in the garage they where thinking of getting rid of for a small fee

Feeble

There's a few people on here who have working central locking goodies... I need one myself, but cannot afford it at the moment...

Mi 16 Kenno has a working key and sensor for £45... Or he did have when I asked! :)

My original remote locking packed up and i replaced it with one of the ebay kits. i just wired the control unit for the new remotes in place of the peugeot receiver, if i remember right its a simple system with a negative trigger, only 3/4 wires. This way, the system behaves just as if it was the original remote locking, i.e. lights flashing, interior light on and off, etc. The factory alarm on my car has been bypassed anyway, but I see no reason it wouldnt work the alarm as well, just as normal.

On ph1 model you need install at least four wires. All are near original central locking control unit. I also installed aftermarket system, with integrated key. Works much better than infrared ones, which kind original system is.

Paul aka pugtwin309wotsits sold me one for a fiver if I remember correctly. I shall be forever grateful for that :D .

They seem to go for a fortune on ebay.

Funny how you live and learn - when I scrapped my first Mi16 I left all the plip stuff with it!! These days I'd know to strip the car of everything just in case someone wanted parts.
