Lowering A 4bie

Recommended Posts

cammmy

Hey guys.

I was just wondering. from a handling point of view, is it worth lowering a 4bie? I have heard somewhere that it screws with the geometry.

Has anybody lowered a 4bie? if so what kind of difference did you get?

Also, Is it possible to get the rear suspension stiffer without modification (is there some kind of setting that can be changed from under the car, like the way you can adjust the standard ride hight)? or do you need to get the spheres re-gassed/uprated for that?

Cheers

I've lowered my car, now ~9cm to ground from front subframe. Yes, it feels better to drive than it did before. But I also changed all joints and almost all bushings from front suspension.

If you wan't stiffer rear suspension you must adjust pressures from rear sphere.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into it for the future, Might have to import bushes and what not (I know of 2 other 4bies in NZ so it's not exactly easy to find parts), Does the 4bie share the same front suspension getup as the Mi16?

Cheers

At least bushings and joints are same.

4bie weights more than 2WD, lowering springs are usually for 2WD -> drop was little more than promised.
