Now I know the windscreen washer system on the 405 is pretty good, but I cant help but think it would be a whole lot better if I could actually get some water onto my windscreen...

..has somebody thought of a good way of unblocking them.? as I've tried blowing and sucking (Mmm nice taste) but with no joy..

..can you still buy them new and id their anyway of fitting some kind of filter to the pipe.?

Try reverse blowing with an airline. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to fit a filter. My Passat has a filter somewhere in the water line

Most of this bloody country is "hardwater" - chalky crap that blocks up and kills everything.... washing machines, boilers, showers. Mine are always blocking up. I stick a pin into the holes on the spraybar, works a treat. For a few days LOL.

My old astra hillclimber had the PVC clear pipes running out from the scuttle and along the wiper arms. Plugges at the outer end, with 4 or 5 very fine holes drilled with a dremmel, made a cracking impromptu system.

Mating the 405 spray bars to the low profile wipers was a 'mare!

I got bosch wipers from eBay for £10, which was a bit cheaper than the GSF low pro ones. I got the spray bars on, but it too much sucking of teeth and head scratching, before the Edinburgh socket set was deployed.
