Mi16 Coils

Hi all.... i have a 405 mi16 2.0 ltd edition lemans.

 

Sems to be that the coils breaking on them is a common fault with this car... firstly is there a way to tell which coil had actually broke when it comes to replacing them?

 

Secondly is there any way to repair a coil once it has broken?

 

i bought a pack of four coils.. the problem is now that they got mixed up with some older ones and its hard to tell which are the old and which are the new ones!...

the easiest and quickest way by far is to unplug fuel injectors one by one

and the one that doesn't make a change to how the car is running - it's a coil

on that cylinder that's gone .

just pull one coil out at a time and if there is no change in the idle then thats the faulty pack.

do coil packs show up if faulty on idle/tickover?

 

My car seems to miss a bit but ticks over absolutely fine just feels to miss a bit at around 4k then its ok again?

same symptoms as when mine went wrong.

whoo whoo, i hope so, finally some diagnosis ive got 4 coming so hopefully that will cure mine
