Ski Hatch?

Recommended Posts

Guest lazyspaniard

Do Mi16's have a hatch/hole behind the rear arm rest, to lay a pair of skis through the car?

I?m looking for an ?alpine?? vehicle to take and spend a season in the Alpes this winter. Thinking a 4bie would make an ideal candidate.

The brief:

1) Ideally 4x4, but FWD would be ok, or RWD, erm.. would be interesting!

2) Reliable(ish)

3) Enough space to transport all equipment.

4) Fun to drive.

5) Survive a couple laps round the ?Ring. (taking a few detour?s on the journey!)

I vaguely remember once, when I was a nipper, being in a French 405 hire car that had a ski hatch. Was this an optional extra or French spec etc?. The rear seats do not split/fold?

All information is welcomed, plus your ideas for a suitable vehicle. As you can guess I am new to 405?s. I?m a member of the 205 GTi clan. and PSOOC. (don?t shoot, stock 1.6 8v engine!)

Thanks,

Ross

Hi Ross.

I'm 99% sure all 405's had the ski hatch, certainly all the ones I've ever seen have had one, hidden behind the rear centre armrest.

I'd say a 4bie would be an excellent choice :)
