405 Diesel Exhaust Mid Section

While I was in Cyprus I was stroking a cat that made off under a diesel 405. I thought I'd have a butchers underneath this 405 just to see if it's cleaner than our cars.

Anyway, I noticed the mid section of the exhaust system didn't have the silencer box like the 405 petrol models have.

 

So, lol, is this pipe worth fitting to an mi?

yep diesel 405's dont have centre silencers.

 

dont think it will be any good on mi16 405 as diesel exhaust is thinner bore then the mi16 i think.

you could always go to an exhaust place to get it replaced with an adequate pipe, if you wanted .

The td is a big if not bigger thasn the std mi16 exhaust, i had a td and dont forgewt it has a turbo so the exhaust capacity has to be big!

 

Not sure whether its a straight swap though, but def no centre or front silencer just a back box, chap too cantre and front were like £30 for both!

 

Def worth a look and like i say im sure its the same bore as the mi16

If you just get rid of centre they are not to bad as the centre silencer is just a straight through silencer anyway so its effect is limited.

 

I think it would sound a little louder but not nasty, prob not even to noticeable till higher revs too.
