405 Mi16 Phase 2

Recommended Posts

B1ack_Mi16

I got a Ph2 405 Mi16 engine with loom and ECU from a scrappy.

I'm gonna help a mate put it into his 309 and could really need some advice on the wiring part of this kind of conversion.

First of all, do anyone know if all the Phase 2 Mi16's have the key-pad? As it didn't come with a key-pad I'm afraid I'll have problems getting it to run.

Really apreciate if anyone has something that might help me on with this! :)

My phase 2 has an imobiliser linked to the remote central locking. If you dont unlock the doors by remote then the engine wont start. It hasnt happened yet but i'm sure its a bu**er when the batteries in the remote go flat

My Mi has a nice cubby hole perfect for a bottle of juice where the keypad usually sits ;)

The early 405's didn't have the keypad along with the S16 and ZX16v, The wiring is simple from the 405 so it's a case of tracing it all back

Ok, so no need to worry about the key-pad then probably?

The breakers said the car didn't have one, but I've heard so much talk about it that I almost were sure that it had one. The engine came from a 1995 405 Le Mans.

If it all fails I'll just slap on a 1.9 inlet and a Motronic 4.1 from a 1988 BX and see how that works... but ideally I would like to use it as is with the newer more modern management.
