Passenger Side Footwell Moist!

Recommended Posts

Guest m.i-man

After the diesel conversion, I used the diesel heater console due to the Mi's having one of the cables broken for the vents etc. After filling up the coolant system, I have now noticed a leaky heater matrix...... I know the floor was wet before this happened though, is there another cause for this side of the car to get wet? Or is it a possibility that both heater matrix's leaked?

Leaky heater matrix's are pretty common, although, its usually the 'O' rings on the matrix joints that fail. I have also seen the pipes to the matrix corrode and leak. Its a very easy job to change them though. At least you dont have to remove the whole dashboard.

Annoying thing is that I had actually only just put the dash back in!! But I am actually on the case today to fix the heater matrix with the dash in situ!

Then I have to change the diaphram in the priming pump, put new brakes on, and she's ready for the mot! :o

 Grrrrr.... the retaining screw for the pipes has been rounded off, so I've had to cut parts of the matrix away to release the pipes, just find that the new matrix doesn't have the o rings etc with it.

Off to Peugeot I go. :(
