That looks very nice! You planning on lowering it at all, that would finish off the look really well IMO. What wheels are they btw?

You're Simon right? Sure it was your car at Pugfest 05 and I chatted to you. You were there with a bucket giving her a clean.

you should have used some autoglm bumper care on those side strips to bring them black to black. far better then the faded grey.

how cheap?

i was always told "55s" were expensive, but i get them from my local tyre place for 35pound. which isn't bad.

Gavin.

£35 is quite good for 55s. I think 50s start off at about £25. My car's already low though so I'm not sure I want to go 50s. I know most people would say you've gotta be crazy to buy cheap tyres for a car that's gonna be driven hard but the regs are so stringent now even the cheap tyres are a zillion times better than remoulds.

Get yourself some 195/50 Goodyear Gs-D3's, I put a set on the car fitted and balanced for £200. I was truly amazed at the difference, i'm never putting cheap tyres on the car again. Pay a bit extra and you won't regret it.

Heres my 95 n reg 405 its not an mi16 but at the time i could not affored to insure one :(

However it had fully mi16 bodykit, rear axle, lemans steering wheel with centre insert and lemans half leather.

Really was a gem untill some f***ing idiot in a rover 220 turbo decided to pull out right in front of me on a duel carriageway

This was my 4th 405 td and i loved em, only reason i did not get another was there were only crap ones left and i really did want another black one, also as late as possible too.

Black-Beauty.jpg

I really would like an mi16 now, i have the funds etc to have one a second car, running a black 306 dturbo now

car-in-yartd-3.jpg

but have the facilities to create a really nice 405, was looking at getting a rough one and doing an engine refurb and respray, was gonna go for metalic black with gold flake!!!

I just need to find a mice mk2 mi16 in need of love!

Heres a recent porject if it interests you, got a blown gti6 and fitted a td engine as the girl frined needed a new car...

Great pics Sloppy!

You're lucky, look at all the space you've got there to work on cars. What wheels are on your black 306?

Alex, yes I have to agree Goodyear make some bloody good tyres. I used to have some eagle venturas on my old Mi16 and they gripped like hell.

The wheels on by black 306 are off a 307 xsi/hdi 16" come on other models too. They look crap on the 307 as the tyres are really deep but i saw the potential !!!

Needs 5mm spacers on the rears though. I rekon they will look sweet on a 405 too aswell, if all goes to plan i think i will put them on an mi16 when i get one but i really do like the s16/lemans wheels on the 405, i really think they suit it. I have seen some 206 gti 17" wheels on a 405 on a french 405 forum, they did look very good as there big solid spokes, aslo really suited the 405 :)

Yea tis handy having the barn, hopefully making a custom shed for em soon though with a proper concrete floor and pit, on my which list at the mo though

heres a better pic of the 307 wheels, im sure someone could photoshop em onto a 405!

wheelsandshit005.jpg

actaully thats not a good pic, but you get the idea of them! :)

Bozi

Well, here's some pics of my '87 mi16 turbo project:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/bozi/kuvat2.html

and a more recent one from the engine:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/bozi/temp/DSC_4157.JPG

Some of those pics are quite old, for example the new 283mm front brakes are not in those.. And the engine bay is still very much "in progress" Also the front splitter is gone, to get a more "clean" look.
