Air Conditioning Setup Advice

Hiya ... Need some advice on the air con setup for my recently imported 1991 1.9. It has a factory setup but water has been collecting in the heater box and leaking into the passenger footwell. I checked under the heater box and was surprised there is no water drainage tube visible underneath. There is also a rubber grommet in the firewall (positioned just below the heater box) where I would have expected the rubber tube to exit into the engine bay.

 

Appreciate if anyone with air cond fitted could lend some advice on how their setup works as I think mine seems unusual. Unfortunately there are not much expertise available in Hong Kong and wanted to avoid any removal of the dash interior if possible.

There should be a rubber right angle boot thing, which drains water into the engine bay. It often gets blocked, meaning water backs up etc.
