Brake Shoes - Automatic Adjuster Placement

Recommended Posts

CaptainP

Had a cylinder go at the weekend so replaced it with a new one. The shoes were in a bad state so thought for the price of them I would replace them as well. I have picked up a new set this evening but I need to refit the roll pins that hold the automatic adjuster lever. Looking at the shoes there are lugs next to where the roll pins fit. Does the lever fit on the side of shoe with the indent or the lug side?brakeshoes.jpg

I have a couple of spare sets of shoes here but these are narrower than the ones that came out of my CTI and both sets have the lugs/levers in different positions. Which is the correct way?

Thanks

Got my head around it, the lug is for the adjustment fork to sit on, on the back of the shoe each side.....

Glad, was going to try and answer this but for the life of me couldn't remember how I did mine.

I first sent mine for an mot with the auto adjusters on the wrong side and back to front so had no rear brakes at all , took a while to figure it out myself .
