Styles Of Seats?

Hi team

Right

Since i can remember i always wanted a 205 so my first car was a 1L 205

Second car was a 205 rallye

3rd car was a battered old 1.6 ereg softtop

 

Now im at the age of 29 i want a 1.9 gti ive viewed alot of adds but what confuses me is some of 1.5'phase cars had half silver and black cloth seats and the others had one colour cloth which phase did the half colous originally come from as i dont like it but thought it might be phase 1's yet ive seen some p2's with it in

Late Phase 1.5 cars came with Phase 2 style seats as standard.

 

The Phase 2 seats are the black ones with red/black check centres, whereas the earlier seats where the grey type, either the stripped tweed seats on 1.6's or the half-leathers with two tone grey centres.

 

The changeover was around Spring 1990 at around the same time that the cars moved over to BE3 gearboxes.

 

Obviously over the years many cars have had the interiors swapped, so you'll find all manner of combinations these days.
