Alternative Air Filter?

Just bought a GTI with an XU9J2 engine. It has a cone air filter, which looks to have seen better days. I would preferably have original induction/filter, but I can't find any used and I'm actually not sure if the J2 engine shares induction with the J1 OEM GTI engine.

 

Any recomendations? A new K&N or the likes are rather expensive (£150) for what it is especially as it isn't what I want and also it isn't legal to MOT standards here in DK

If you're keeping the original induction then most will be fine, OE spec, K&N replacement etc..

 

Green Cotton & K&N are good if you're relocating the AFM.

Well, that's the problem. I don't have the original filter of induction system.. Only the nasty, dirty cone..
